The Future Mr. and Mrs. Riekstins!

This was seriously one of the funnest things I’ve ever done! A friend of a friend asked me to take some pictures for her sister’s boyfriend two days ago. I talked to the groom-to-be over the phone yesterday about all of the details…. He was sneaking around behind her back to keep it all a secret 🙂 I got there {Vintage Villas on Lake Travis} a little early to scope it out and find the best angle from where they would be sitting.

I also really wanted to get pictures of them arriving in their car and walking up to the building. Mind you, I have no idea what they look like. So I’m in this little room that overlooks the front entrance and I start taking pictures of random cars coming up the driveway. The first car comes up…

And it’s them! Well, I didn’t know it at the time, but I had a good feeling from how old they looked and what they were wearing {notice what the passenger is wearing?}. I have mad detective skills….I watched a lot of Harriet the Spy growing up.

So I stay inside and wait for them to walk up. At this point, I’m just guessing that this is them. There were two weddings going on and hotel guests coming in and out. The odds are slim, but I trust my gut feeling and take a picture of them through the window:

After they come inside, I sneak back outside and go around to the other side of the building. I peek through the bushes and see them sitting where the Vintage Village staff said they would stationed. Now, I know for sure that it’s them:

Rudi, thank you for allowing my Harriet the Spy dreams to come true! The night couldn’t have been more perfect. I cried tears of joy for you and then remembered that I should pull it together so I could see through my viewfinder!

Rudi pulled it off and she said yes! AND she was surprised!
